The day itself was rather busy with me taking Brian to work, than going into the school with Tam, then getting Brian from work, then going to a friend's choir concert, then going to other friends' house for dinner. Our poor little guy was bundled up and down and placed into/out of the car seat so many times that day. He did get a bit of a nap at the concert, but woke and started "talking" during the Copland piece. (It was a lesser known Copland and quite modern (not very likable)). When we went over for dinner, our friends have a boy who is about 1.5 years old. Tam couldn't stop watching this live entertainment! He thought Zander was awesome as he played around the room. We thought it was great to see how big Tam might be in another year :-)
Well, mom and dad lost track of time and before we knew it it was already nearly 8 o'clock. Tam had not forgotten what time it was and began to scream his little head off. Normally, he's a happy camper with cries only for food, dirty diaper, and gas. Now we can add the "I'm-over-tired-and- nothing-will-make-me-happy-at-this-point-except-sleep" cry which was complete with tears and hand punches. These cries are now nothing like the little mews he made when he was first born. Now, they are loud enough you can't talk over them or ignore them! And, once we got him home, he was so worked up he couldn't go to sleep! URGH! Finally Brian just snuggled with him in out bed, murmuring songs, and letting him cry. A good 45minutes later it was finally quiet. I checked on them and BOTH boys had finally drifted off to dream land.
Note to self...Tam=happy when he's gotten his rest. (Duh).
