Bubble blowing

Tam and I headed outside this afternoon for the gorgeous June weather. Tam already knows where he stashes his "outside" toys...such as the bucket for water, pine cones, sidewalk chalk, trucks, and bubble stuff. He, of course, headed write for this stock pile once the door was open for him. Today, I took a cue from a fellow blogger: 30 days of crafts blog.

I made this bubble-blowing gizmo for us to try. It...was...AWESOME. Tam thought the snake of bubbles was the funniest thing ever (or at least that hour). He kept trying to swat at them both coming out of the bottle and after they were in the air. I blew until I felt light-headed for him. Tam "tried" to blow too, but just not quite the lung-capacity yet for this bottle blower. However, he's gets bubbles out of a normal want usage once out of every 4 tries :-)

On the bubble blowing note, I gave up with buying bubble solution and went with the ol' Dawn soap+water+Karo syrup (out of glycerin) recipe. The Internet is awesome for finding specification for this from other people's trials. I went with the 1part + 10parts + .25part and it worked beautifully. Plus, I don't care if Tam spills it all over himself, his toys, the yard, etc.

The downside is our 5.5 year old camera is starting to go fritzy. A few of the menu buttons have ceased to work. Sigh. And I really loved this camera too. Maybe I'll start taking suggestions on Facebook for the next camera to buy.
