Moments

Ah...
Nothing beats a relaxing moment soaking in a hot bath with tons of bubbles...
And a 2.5 year old walking in to seranade you with his rendition of Jingle Bells...

Well maybe, this moment...
I'm tucking Tamlin into bed and he is asking me random math questions, so I kiss him, tell him goodnight, and that we will figure them out in the morning.  He then tells me he loves me "165 times because that is huge number".


Okay...this moment was one of the best this week...
Tamlin asks to give me a hug while I am bent down helping Jude to pull up his pants.  I then receive a wonderful huge hug from behind by Tam.  Jude immediately jumps to hug me too...Oh, Squeeze!  Tamlin then tells me he loves my hugs so much.

Oh man...we still have cassette tapes in our house.  Brian made sure his favorites even survived the latest move.

Playing with Nana

On our last visit to Nana and Papa's house, Nana was willing to play a game with the little ones.  Tamlin chose to play "Guess Who", a game of 20 questions to figure out what person your opponent has chosen.  The gameboards have plastic people that flip up and down, which both boys liked to play with.

Tamlin got the hang of the game mostly...Jude just liked to be part of the action.

Everyone had fun playing a round or two.

Memory Monday - You remind me of the Babe

This is a shout-out to my sister, Shelly...

So Tamlin and I were digging around the DVDs to find a movie we could both tolerate.  I suggested Labyrinth, and quickly mentioned it had cool goblins in it.  Tam was for it. 

Labyrinth was (is) one of my favorite movies.  I loved that there was a female that saved the day, and cool goblins, and cool costumes, and songs, and totally sexy David Bowie.  I remember that Shelly liked this movie too...especially for the goblin King's awesome costumes that fit him well in all the "right" places.   Plot review for those who don't remember the movie...Heroine must watch baby brother; Wishes goblins would take crying baby away; Goblin king takes baby to center of labyrinth; Heroine regrets her wish and must find her way through the maze to get him back;  Strange critters and friends are met along the way;  Riddles and trials are placed in her way;  Musical rock videos are sung between people and puppets; Eventually Heroine faces off against Goblin king and wins.

The first time I tried to watch this movie with Tam, we only made it about 30 minutes.  Tam got very upset that the goblins had the baby and they couldn't get home.  "No, baby gone.  Need to go home." This was back when he was 3, I think.

This time went much better.  We did make it through the movie, or rather, I made it through the movie.  Tamlin lost interest after about an hour and went to play cars.  Jude did not find the movie interesting at all, and went to play cars nearly immediately.   Sigh.  I guess I will just have to enjoy this old school Muppet movie by myself...or at least until Shelly comes to visit again.
