Getting through Wednesday

Yep, that definitely explains the fun-fun time I'm in! Yesterday was a down day because I was feeling big, and bloated, and unsexy. Good thing the husband said the right words: I love you all the time :-) However, today is starting better and I didn't feel any heartburn last night, yeah!

The big baby discussion of last night was circumcision. I asked him if he thought we should have it done if our baby is a boy. The husband was very emphatically positive about this. Whoa. I really didn't think he had ever thought about it before or would terribly care, so it was a bit of a surprise. Me, I was leaning toward no, because the procedure is not medically necessary and not proven to be more hygienic. I asked him his reasoning and he said...(Warning: Too Much Info ahead) "I think my son should look like me." I belly-laughed for quite a bit after this. I guess not everyone is ruled by a logical scientific mind all the time :-)

The kitchen destruction/re-construction is moving forward slowly. The husband has placed the tile, and then realized he wanted to buy a saw to cut the tile. Lowe's owns our souls for sure by now. So he is outside cutting tile and making a watery mess. I'm still putting IKEA cabinets together. It isn't that it is hard, but dang time consuming with all the screws and nails. Seven out of 14 are now completed! Luckily, I don't have to have the cabinets finished until after the floor is finished, so I know I still have a few more days to shlept through them.

Ahh....Now I understand completely :-)

Weekend Warrior

We are conquering the kitchen! Who says pregnant women can't help with home improvement tasks? Don't worry...I know...no heavy lifting :-) I have to give my husband props for doing most of the difficult stuff, and I am usually left with the easy tedious stuff. We've nearly finished with the painting. I love the colors we choose and I think they will go really well with our beech cabinets. Both of the reds we have on the walls are really warm and inviting colors. I can't wait to see everything together. We've ripped up the old vinyl floor and patched all the holes. I tried to convince the husband that we should just keep the black and white checkered floor that was underneath, but he quickly nixed the idea. He then measured, cut, and fitted all of the cement boards. Late into the evening we had a screw party and screwed all the boards quickly and to everyone's satisfaction :-)

And then there are the cabinets still... I've completed four of them so far. Now if my math-brain is still functioning, that means I still have ten more to go! We are quickly running out of space in the garage for everything.

Otherwise, all is going well on the baby-front. Saturday was a growing day and I often felt round ligament pain when I got up after sitting for long periods. However, Sunday was better. Not having a functioning kitchen means that we have been eating fast-food, microwave dinners, and fast food all week. Not the healthiest stuff...with most of it being huge triggers for heartburn in the evening. I've taken to having a Tums before I lay down at night, and that has seem to stave off the 2am heartburn woes so far. Brian's sympathetic; he likes to rub my belly to see if that helps :-) He really hopes our little one is a boy, but keeps thinking of it already as a little girl. He said that was because he knows how guys think but girls are still mysteries. Also, he already stated that our daughter won't be allowed to date anyone like him while she is young (He was/is a bit of a hooligan!) Me...I think I'm leaning toward a little girl but that could be because I didn't grow up with any brothers. Plus, think of all the cute little doll clothes! But please save us from a princess :-)
