Has spring sprung?

Before dinner last night, Tam and I headed outside to enjoy some of the mild weather. The temperature was a little brisk, but the sun was out and the snow was mostly melted. Tam got to wear his new used jacket...which Brian thinks makes him look like a little Jedi or Ewoke :-)

Tam was excited to be outside running around again and using his hands that were not encased in mittens.


He found a few pieces of chalk that were left over from last fall. Immediately he set to attempting to draw cars all over the sidewalk.


He then found the wagon :-)



And we were off down the road . . .

Tam and the Guitar

Recently, Tam has become enamored with making different sounds with objects.

CLANK
"Sound, Mama!"
"Yes, Tam, when you smack to cars together they make a sound"

SMACK
"Mama, Sound! Sound, Mama!"
"Yes, Tam, when you hit a book against the floor it makes a sound."

Etc...

So a few days ago Brian got out one of his guitars to play for Tamlin.

And he found it AWESOME.

He really enjoyed strumming across all the strings and then dancing around in circles while Brian played.


Then he realized that he could run his car up the neck and make a different sound.


Rock and Roll and Cars...our kid is so cool :-)

30.5 weeks

Little over 30 weeks done...and still feeling pretty good.
Baby has been getting the hick-ups fairly frequently now, which feels a bit odd in the lower pelvic region :-)

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

Wordless Wednesday - Swimming with Daddy

Tam's been going to swim classes with Brian these past 6 weeks.

Doing great at kicks and scoops...


Getting better at floating and blowing bubbles...

Fabric and race cars

I had to pick up some fabric at JoAnn's at the mall. Tam and Brian came along for the fun of it. As luck would have it, they were displaying stock race cars in the mall this week. Once Tam saw this, there was no way he was going to hang around looking at fabric and notions with momma.

So while I hunted for the perfect material, Tam and Brain checked out the cars...

Tam even got to sit in one of the little race cars. He was extremely thrilled; check out that big grin!
He "almost" fits into this little one...just a few more years, kiddo.

Car Conversation

Riding along in my automobile

Me: We could turn right here and avoid 28th street.
Brian : Thank you. I didn't know I needed your permission to go this way (semi-sarcastic tone).
Me: Yep, you do. I have 2 X chromosomes, which is more than you and this makes me the boss.
Brian : Well, Tam and I together have 2 X chromosomes too. So there.
Me: Tam is little so his chromosomes are smaller. Your 2 are still less than mine.

Pause.

Grins, then Laughter.

Brian : I don't think it works that way, Dr. Wifey.
Me: Yeah, but I had you convinced for a moment.
Brian : I bet I could convince most of my friend that your logic was sound on this one.
Me : And some of my students.
What about since Tam's littler, he has less cells and therefor less chromosomes than you.
Brian : That's better.

Grins. Laughter. Tam's clueless but smiling anyways.
