Brothers

Tam and Jude...my two boys... two little brothers.
So far so good with sharing between them and treating each other fairly. We are trying to encourage Tam to watch out for his little brother.
They have already gotten to share wagon rides while pulled by mama.
Tam is "sharing" toys or at least trading toys with Jude if he wants to play with whatever he's got in front of him.
Jude is fascinated with watching his older brother. I think Tam's his current hero :-)

First foods

Last week we hit a bit milestone with baby Jude. He was giving us all the right cues...nearly 5 months old, holding the head up steady, drinking more milk, sleeping better, watching us all eat with big huge yearning eyes. In light of this, we decided that it was time to let him start eating solid foods.

We started with the really watery rice cereal.
Plopped Jude in the highchair, strapped on the bib, dug out the little spoon, warmed the cereal, and we were ready to go.

With the first bite, Jude eyes got huge :-)

"What's this?"
"This isn't milk?"
"How do I get this down my throat?"
"Yum!"

Initially, with the first feedings, Jude still had a bit of the tongue thrust reflex and much of the mush came back out of his mouth. However, by day three he was eating like a pro.

I'm so proud of my little baby, and so sad to see him grow up so fast.

Decorating for Halloween

Right before we left to go visit the family, I got out the decorations for Halloween. I love this scary holiday and have accumalted quite a hoard of decorating material. Some pieces I've made, some of bought on sale, and some I inherited from mom from her days at the Buckeye Boo Haunted house.

I waited until Jude was taking a nap to get out the goods. Of course, thing 1 (Tam) wanted to help out :-) He loved pulling out each item to check it out and to note if it was "silly" or "Scwary." One of his favorites was the colored spider lights. He insisted that we place those up in his room so that they could glow at night. The other favorite was a moving/talking skull in a plastic ball that told people's fortunes as they moved by.

Now we are just waiting for Halloween weekend so that we can don our costumes...a doggie for Jude and a race car driver for Tamlin.

Jude has started really giggling lately.  He really likes to play peek-a-boo = smiles.  He also really likes to be tickled, especially under the chin and on the belly.  I love to see him smile his big toothless grin and hear his chuckles of delight.  :-)

Baby Gap

Someone got a new hat :-)

Okay...I ventured into Baby Gap today with the intent of spending a gift card on clothing for Jude.  The wee one needed dressy clothes for my sister's upcoming wedding.  I don't usually shop at this store (or the gap) because of the pricier prices and uppity-air.

Let me just go on the record saying ...
Oh, my, Gawd.

Their baby / kids clothes are really darn cute.  I saw quite a few things I would love to see Jude or Tamlin wearing...especially some knit sweaters.  Tam loved the shirts with cars.  Jude fell asleep while I was browsing.

I was good though, and only walked out with items totally the amount on the gift card.  Jude got a button-down shirt, socks, and this way-too-cute hat with the Union-Jack flag on the top.  He looks so cute.  Tam's wearing a rented tux, so nothing from here for him.

I did immediately sign-up for coupons from the store and e-alerts for future sales...just in case I feel the need for cuteness again at a bargain price.
