Wordless Wednesday - May Day Celebration

We celebrated May 1st at a Renaissance gathering.

We all got done up in our regalia for the party.

I helped out by doing simple face painting

Brian sang.

And kiddo ran around, giggling.

This might be the last chance he'll fit into that gown with his little belly sticking out. I'll have to break out the machine and make him a new outfit for this summer...

Shout out to my sis' for helping watch Tam while Brian and I were "working" :-)

Strainer Entertainment

More kitchen antics!

It is a really good thing that nothing harmful is kept in the lower drawers in our kitchen, for Tam has claimed them all as his own personal toy bins. Brian and I just chuckle and remind each other to wash out the tupper-ware or cookie cutter from a low drawer before we use it.

Last evening, Tam re-discovered the strainer.

He decided that it made a damn-fine space helmet.

He would put it on his head, run around, take it off, run around, (repeat)...then laugh crazily.

He would laugh even more if he put it on and then Brian or I started chasing after him!

I think he really liked seeing the world around him in a different way. Way to expand your views, kiddo!

tea surprise

If you come by our house and we offer you a cup a tea, you may be in for a little surprise.

All notice that there seems to be a variety of tea bags helter-skelter in the bottom of the drawer...


Yes, Tam has finally managed to open ALL of our boxes of tea and has proceeded to mix them all up. He does attempt to put them back in the boxes...but who knows which belong where anymore (except the few that are labeled).

Tam has also learned how to "Smile for the camera"...hence the maniac-like grin :-)

Naming body parts

Common Conversations of late...

"Hey, Tam, can you show mama your ear?"

Tam reaches both hands up and grabs his ears.

"Tam, can you show mama your nose?"

Tam alternates between pointing to his nose or trying to touch my nose.

"Where is Tam's foot?"

Tam plops on the floor, grabs a foot, and waves it in the air.

"Hey, Tam, where's your belly?"

Grinning broadly, Tam pulls up his shirt and pats his belly OR stinks his finger in his belly-button.

See...we are learning human anatomy at home! And you all thought I only knew about plants :-)
